Mocha chocolata ya ya

The girls have their first iced coffee, Gramma K's favorite!!

Ok, not really, but cute pictures, right?

Cousins!

Lorren and I met in Greenville so we could get the girls together again. What a wonderful weekend!!! I wish we lived closer so our girls could spend time together more often. Savannah is an absolutely precious little girl. She is so animated and expressive! And, BIG! She is bigger than both of her cousins.

It was such a blessing to see them all together! God is good!!

Pulmonary Stenosis

First of all, thanks for your prayers! We took our little Pretzels to the heart doctor on Wednesday -- it was so hard to know she may have something wrong with her heart! We prayed over her before we took her for God to take care of her and help us handle whatever news may come. She does have Pulmonary Stenosis, but a very mild case.

Pulmonary Stenosis is a defect where the valve leading to the lung artery is too small or too thick (too think in Pressy's case) or does not open completely. This causes the right pumping chamber of the heart to have to work harder than normal to push the blood to the lungs. This is causing a murmur -- Pressy's is a little lounder than normal which is why we went for a second ultrasound (she had her first one in the hospital at birth).

Mild levels of narrowing are tolerated very well, the child generally has normal activity.

I made sure this wouldn't affect anything she would want to do such as running and playing sports. The doctors assured me her case was mild enough she would be able to do anything she wants!

We will go back for a check up in a year. At that time they don't even expect to hear the murmur then. When pulmonary stenosis is this mild it is often self-resolving and it will not show at all this time next year. Keep praying that that is the case for our Pressy!

Pressy in the Baby Bjorn

As you may know, Pressy is a high maintenance child. She has a hard time with some of her evening bottles and just cries through them. Her pediatrician said to just chalk it up to some colicky behavior, in other words, crying for no reason. When she does this it takes us quite a while to feed her and when we she does calm down, as soon as we put her down it starts back up, so I've started wearing her in the Baby Bjorn more. We got it as a gift from the Marconi's and it has been a life saver!!

Lyla in a Bumbo!

Abby brought John's Bumbo seat for my girls to use. Pressy sat in it for a few minutes then was over it. Lyla lasted a little longer and enjoyed it a LOT more! See her smiling! I wasn't even trying to make her smile. I even had time to get up and get my camera, she obviously had a good time feeling like a "big" girl sitting up.

The Goff's visit!

My cousin, Abby, her hubby Jeff and their 11 month old son, John came by for a short (too short!) visit. We had so much fun together! We went to the mall together and met one of Abby's friends who is pregnant and who lives close by -- she brought a friend who had a baby just 3 days before our girls! Hopefully we can get together with them again, it was so nice to meet some other mommy's in the area. After the mall we came back home and made a delicious ham dinner.

At one point I put John in the crib with the girls because Abby and Jeff were outside putting John's carseat in my car so we could go to the mall. Since I had all 3 by myself and I was very aware of how non-child proof my home is, I confined John while I got the girls ready. It was really cute, he kept staring at them, then he leaned over Lyla, put his hand between the 2 girls to support himself, brought his other hand around and snatched Pressley's pacie right out of her mouth! He popped it right into his own mouth. Pressy just sat there in shock. It was too funny! And if you visit John's blog, you see how he likes to chew (not suck) on his pacies.

Their visit was way to quick, but very, very fun! It was nice to have girl time with my best bud too.

Here is John just after he took Pressy's pacie. He's so proud of himself!

Here are the 3 of them in the crib. I had to re-pacie Pressy before I took the picture.

He's coming to get you!

A different pacie.... same chewing style....

What a handsome boy!

Pressy in her carrier at the mall. They are both really starting to enjoy their toys. They will stare at the lion and elephant for several minutes at a time. Its neat to see them getting interested in toys.

Lyla at the mall.

John chewing on Tucker's toy. They played pretty well together, but Tucker would get a little too excited and annoy John eventually.

Mother's Day!!

MY day! I'm a mommy! It was the best day since they were born! I felt like a queen, David and the girlies did a good job making sure I did.

Here is how my day went:
I woke up to get the girls out of bed and they had obviously gotten out of bed in the middle of the night and made me a Mother's Day greeting! They are so thoughtful, and SMART!

The girls came back to bed with David and I, they were so cheerful!! We took picture after picture of them grinning. They have really started to coo too. It was such a special time. I love low-key quality time like that.

Then we got the girls dressed for church. We let them sleep in their dresses since we would be leaving for church during their nap time. While they slept we got ourselves ready. It was our first time to church as a family! The girls did great!! We let them go to the nursery since I thought it would be a little stressful to have 2 babies in the service -- if one cries the other could start. I was worried we would both end up in the hall with unhappy babies and then all our stuff would be left in the service. They did GREAT in the nursery.

Then we went to lunch at Longhorn's with our friends Paul and Erin and Aaron, Kristi and Warren Gage. Warren is 11 months old. I can't believe how much our girls are going to change over the next 9 months!

After lunch we went to the park. It was very WINDY and the sun was pretty warm. The girls sat happily in their carriers. David and I were going to read but after about an hour of fighting the wind decided to call it a day and go home.

It was such a wonderful day! God has blessed me with such a thoughtful husband and 2 beautiful baby girls, can life get any better than this?

Shopping!

For Mother's Day my mom sent me a gift card, David chipped in a little more and I got some new summer clothes! We spent ALL day Saturday roaming the mall. We had so much fun!

I spent my money at NY and Co. and at one point Pressley peeked in on me! Obviously she didn't like the outfit I was trying on!

2 month pedi appt.

The girls had their 2 month dr visit this past Tuesday. They got their first round of shots. 2 shots in the right leg and one in the left. Shots SUCK! The poor girls were miserable that night. I had to call David and ask him to come home from work early to help me. I couldn't calm them down. It was so sad. They did fine AT the doctor's office, cried a little bit but we were able to calm them down pretty quickly -- of course all 4 of us needed calming down as we all cried together. But the real pain set in around 4:30 that afternoon. It was so sad!

The next day I babied them and let them sleep in, let them fall asleep during bottles, let them sleep in my arms, the swing, the bouncy -- wherever they wanted! And then I paid for it! They were so hard to get to bed that night and their schedules were off Thursday too! I think they would have been fine Wednesday if I just stuck with our normal schedule. I think I made it difficult for them by switching things around. Definitely a lesson learned!

The girls are doing GREAT! Growing right on schedule. Basically Pressley is in the 50th percentile and Lyla is in the 25th. Pressley weighed 11.7 and Lyla weighed 10.4. If you remember, when the girls were born they heard a faint heart murmur in Pressley. We had an echo done and saw that everything was fine. Well, they heard it again on Tuesday and want her to have the echo re-done. Our pedi was very confident everything is fine but she would rather us be safe than sorry, of course we agree! She said it could be nothing or it could be a functioning heart murmur (like Aunt Regina, right?). She said if it was something more severe we would know by now. Our appointment is for this coming Wednesday. Please keep Pressy in your prayers and we'll let you know how it goes.

Yea! A bathing suit...finally!

I've looked high and low for a bathing suit to fit a little baby. They all seem to start at the 12 month size. We found this suit at the Carter's store and its actually 6-9 months (the girls are currently in 0-3) but apparently their bathing suit sizes run a little small. Its a tad big now but should be perfect through the summer. Here is Lyla modeling. Pressley will never be the model -- remember getting dressed and undressed is one of her dislikes.

Lyla and the TV

Lyla LOVES the TV. She will turn her body to watch it. When Mother and Daddy (Turner) were here we went to Shane's for dinner, her carrier faced the TV and she was in heaven! She stared at it all through dinner. Here she is again, turning her body to see the TV behind her.

Finally! A blog update

Here are some random pictures from the last week.
