FYI...

We are going to Greenville for the week! We being the girls and me. David will join us Thursday after work. So, probably no blogging! I'll try, if I can figure out a way to load my pictures on my parents laptop, shouldn't be too hard, but I'm not very computer-y.

Morning play time!

I love Saturday mornings because David has the wonderful opportunity of playing with the girls early in the morning -- their happy time. We put Pressy in the exersaucer and although she didn't really play, she didn't hate it either! Lyla was in the bouncy seat being bounced by Daddy and she thought it was hilarious!! I cherish my morning time with them and am always so grateful to see David enjoy it. I never would have thought my brother-in-law, Cole, had it made by working the night shift, but he does! He gets to spend the happy times with Savannah every day! David gets the evening fussiness. At some point do they get happier in the evenings?

Bibs

As you may have noticed, the girls are now wearing bibs ALL THE TIME! Pressy is the Drool Queen and can soak a shirt in no time and Lyla is still Miss Spitty! So, I finally gave in and decided to keep them constantly bibbed. I'm not crazy about a baby in a bib, I'd rather see their cute outfit. But, at least now when the bib is off the outfit underneath is CLEAN. Unlike before where Pressy's was always wet and Lylas always had dried spit-up crusted on the sleeves. So, you'll probably see bibbed babies from here on out!

Trying to be crafty...

I have always loved being crafty! I usually end up spending a ton of money on a craft I think I would enjoy and then never give it the attention it deserves (I have a whole closet FULL of scrapbook stuff that I've NEVER used!!). Well, now that I respect my $$ a little (ok, a LOT) more, I knew that if I made the investment I had to complete my crafts! And I'm so glad I have!! I've had so much fun and I think they've turned out quite well... if I must say so myself.

Here is a bib I made for Pressley (well, I didn't make the bib, I just personalized it!)

Here is a close-up of the applique and my hand stitching. I have a sewing machine, but am not very good at it yet!! Hopefully I can learn to operate my sewing machine better and stop the hand stitching, which can be a pain. Although, I do like the look of the hand stitching.

And here is a onesie I made (personalized) for Lyla.

Of course, Lyla also has a bib and Pressy also has a onesie. My girlies gotta match!

You guessed it...

Daddy did my hair this morning!

New Exersaucer!

We got the girls an exersaucer. It was quite an experience for David and me. We went to Babies R Us and ran into 2 of my friends, Shari and Ashley. Shari has a daughter that is just 3 days older than the girlies and Ashley is pregnant with a boy, Aiden, who is going to join us the beginning of December!

Anyway, Ashely was starting her baby registry so I walked around with them for a while and we got to the exersaucers -- the very item I was there to purchase and I went on and on about how great everything "Rainforest" themed by Fisher Price was and that she should totally register for the Rainforest exersaucer -- thats what I was going to buy! Well, we walked around the rest of Babies R Us, I was waiting for David, he was going to meet me there after work. Ashely and Shari finished up and left, David and I went back to the exersaucers and decided to let the girls test drive the Rainforest and the Baby Einstein to make sure we were making the right decision and Lyla LOVED the Baby Einstein! She may have felt the same way about the Rainforest but the floor model was missing a few toys -- so she wasn't as impressed.

So, after all the hype to Ashley, we ended up with the Baby Einstein and have really enjoyed it so far! Plus, we figured we would be visiting Shari and her little girl Leah and we hope they will be visiting us too, so it would give the girls some variety.

Here is our new toy!

As I mentioned, Lyla LOVES it!! There is a little green frog that spins and she spins it over and over and over.

Pressley isn't so sure about it yet. She can tolerate it for a few minutes on her own and looks at the toys but doesn't really play with them. Then she starts to fuss. I'll start playing with the toys to show her how fun it can be, that entertains her but as soon as I stop playing, shes over it. She'll get there.

Since I don't have any exciting pictures of her in the new toy, here are some cute ones of her just being cute!

She always either has her tongue out, or her hands in!

Wow!

I came across this moving video in my blog digging tonight. I think it is from a link off of one of Lorren's friends blogs. But its so moving, so amazing! Several testimonies took my breath away. Which one spoke to you the most?

For me it was the last couple -- who are adopting, and pregnant! And, the woman who was diagnosed with MS and now her Neurologist is a Believer!! And she says its all worth it, truly amazing!

God is so good! He's so much better than good, He is an amazing, life-changing God who wants to love you more than you can imagine.

Unflattering pictures

I asked David if I should post these pictures and he said "every child has a picture of them as babies that they hate!". So, I guess thats a "yes"??

I had just finished feeding the girls. I put their bottles in the kitchen and came back to Lyla after she had spit up. Quite a common act for her, but she looked so cute (as cute as you can look with spit up on your face!), just chilling with her spit up goatee.

Hmmm, wonder what Pressy is doing... (notice the "concentration tongue" a Kruithof trademark!)

Cuddling the girlies

I'm not really crazy about this picture of the 3 of us, its the end of the day and we're all tired, but I have so few of us together! I'm usually the one taking the pictures. I need to fix that, I want more pictures with my girlies.

Haircut

I got my haircut! I figured I might as well go short because...
1. Its summer!
2. I'm about to have 4 little hands pulling my hair.
3. Apparently after you have a baby and your hormones level out you lose your hair. Not a few strands here and there (at least not for me), it has pretty much come out by the handful. My hair is EVERYWHERE! We are constantly pulling it out of the girls hands and out of their neck folds -- how does it end up there? I have no idea, but it does!

Enough said, here it is, what do you think?!?

Oh, and ya know what, Lyla has inherited my crooked smile. Something I've always hated about myself but find quite quirky and endearing on my daughter. Now I have a new found love and respect for my own crooked smile. Isn't it awesome how God does that? Kinda like a little kick of self-esteem for me.

The girls are already fighting over a boy!

My family is all getting together on the Fourth of July in Greenville. To prepare and build hype we have been emailng daily about what we are looking forward to. Today Katie sent the most hilarious picture! The girls get to meet Jack Swartzentruber for the first time, Jack is Katie's nephew. Since there is no blood relation there, all 3 of the girls (Savannah, too!) are vying for his affection! Her picture is perfect! SO funny!! Update:

Well, Pressy's rash is completely gone! Thank you, God!! She seems to be in better spirits, too.

Last night continued to be a wreck. We were summoned by Pressy about every 5-20 minutes. We finally gave up and brought her in bed with us around 3am so we could all get some sleep. Once Lyla fell asleep she did fine, it was just getting her to sleep that was difficult.

We have attempted to nap without swaddles today and its been a pain in the booty! The most I've been able to get either of them to stay asleep has been about 15 minutes. They wake up, I have to rock them or I end up putting them in the swing so they at least get a little bit of a nap in. I'm sure it'll get easier, in fact I feel like I already see a little bit of progress. But this isn't much fun.

At least Pressy is all better! Thats been the highlight of my day (so far).

Poor Pressy!

This is what I woke up to this morning! She had a few red spots yesterday, very tiny and just a couple, this morning it was everywhere! It was heaviest around her diaper and in her arm pits. This picture was taken with my cell phone and then cropped for obvious reasons so the image isn't great, but I think you get the idea. The poor, poor girl! Like David said (he posted, woo hoo!) its just a virus, we are just giving her infant tylenol and it should be gone soon, its already faded quite a bit. Then the whole unswaddling ordeal... its been a rough day! Oh, and its our anniversary, I think we were too busy to even think about that.

Swaddle Me, NO more!

Hey Folks! It's Daddy T. here! Just wanted to share with you about our little girls taking another step to getting even more grown up, as it happens. Tonight we shed the swaddles and let the girls sleep freely. Lyla has started flipping to her belly in her sleep and with the swaddle this could be bad news. So... off they come and WOW, I had no idea how important those things are for a sleeping baby. This has been one of the hardest nights getting the girls to sleep but I think we finally have them down to stay for the night around 9:45 after completely missing 2 naps @ 530 and 8.
Its pretty cute to watch them sleep unrestricted. Lyla is definitely like daddy when it comes to sleeping. She's all over the place, as you've seen before. Now her arms and legs are going in all directions. Occasionally, she even gets herself on her side or even over to her belly (which, as I mentioned, was the start of this whole issue). Pressley is pretty content laying on her back but she does some wiggling of her own. Sometimes she just throws one leg straight up in the air and leaves it there for about a minute before she puts it back down. Both girls seem to like keeping their fist balled up right in front of their face. The problem with this is they tend to knock there pacifiers out and that's when the crying starts. For us, it then becomes a race to get the pacie back in before they wake their sister.

Well, it's now 10:45 and after an hour of sleeping Lyla hasn't made a peep and Pressley has lost her pacie about 10 times and cried everytime. Thank goodness her sister hasn't been phased by her yet. Since it seems to be going well I think it's about time for me to head to bed myself. I hope you enjoyed my little commentary on night 1 without swaddles. We'll continue to keep you posted and maybe we can work out some pics and video later when things get a little more settled down and back to normal.

By the way, Jo had to take Pressley to the doctor today because a bad rash she had all over. Turns out she has some sort of virus, which could explain how fussy she's been lately. The doctor said she would be fine, we just need to let the virus run it's course. She said we could all catch it from her but it's unlikely that Jo or I would get a rash. Viruses apparently manifest themselves in different ways for different people.

Well, thats all for tonight. Good night, all. Talk to you later!

We love you, Daddy!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies out there (especially our Daddy!).

David, you are the best husband and father a girl could ever hope for! I pray our girls find a man as wonderful as you! It has been awesome watching you take on the role of "father". I know our girls can't really express it yet, but you are going to be their prince and the sparkle in their eye. I love to hear all the plans you have for your girls, daddy/daughter dates, family nights, family vacations, coaching sports, taking them to Braves games, I could go on and on. God has blessed our girls greatly by giving them you as their father! I love you!!
